A Lancaster County man who asked an online undercover officer if he was a cop was arrested and charged after trying to solicit sex with a minor on Craigslist, police said.
Justin D. Greer, 29, of Marietta, faces criminal solicitation, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of a communication facility charges filed by the Adams County District Attorney's office. On Nov. In the listing, Greer allegedly posted "age doesn't matter" and described the sexual contact he wanted to have, according to the affidavit.
The detective started talking to Greer throughposing as a year-old girl, according to the affidavit. Even though Greer was aware of the girl's age, he asked for photos via text message and asked "what makes you want to try to have sex," the affidavit states.
After a few more texts, Greer allegedly wrote, "I hope your sic not playing around and your sic not a cop. Greer was scheduled to meet the person he thought was a minor at a Gettysburg Borough store on Nov. Greer allegedly tried to get the girl dropped off at a house in Gettysburg instead, but the detective, posing as the girl, refused. Greer allegedly told the girl in a text, "if you were me you would be a little paranoid too.
Police were able to confirm Greer's identity through facial recognition technologies and cellphone records, according to the affidavit. Facebook Twitter .
